Glad to hear you are considering Catalyst. First off, let me assure you that anything I say about Catalyst is not for the “sales” because I really don’t promote it beyond what you’ve seen on my site. The most significant source of Catalyst related income to me is the development work I use it for. And I use it for every single project, big and small.

For what you described you could probably get away with the personal edition. I don’t know your experience level with website development and WordPress, but unless you are a strong intermediate to professional level, you might not get the value benefits of the professional edition.

There is a bit of a learning curve to Catalyst, and especially to it’s companion tool called Dynamik, but you probably saw the guide that comes with it and nobody gives you that. Catalyst is often compared to Genesis as a similar “theme framework” and Catalyst is far more robust.

You wouldn’t actually be buying from me. The links on my site are affiliate links so I would make a small commission, but all support would come from the Catalyst forums themselves, which might be the most active forums I’ve ever been a part of. I am very active there, along with at least half a dozen other users I can think of, in addition to the guys who actually get paid to provide support.

I know you don’t know me well and typically guys like me would say anything to make an internet sale, but I only promote those tools I believe in and I believe in Catalyst so much I changed my business to revolve around it exclusively, I partner with another “Certified Developer” in Australia on some projects, I am building products for a new Child Theme Store opening on mojo-themes.com this week and will, no doubt, be a part of many future Catalyst projects.

If I had a means to give you a guarantee I would, but I would be shocked if you did not fall in love with Catalyst like so many other WordPress developers have! Good luck no matter what you choose and I hope to see you around the Catalyst forums!
